Too many multi-million dollar movie stars continue to cash in on shoot-‘em-up thrillers, cop dramas, and over-the-top action flicks, all while openly and actively moving to restrict gun ownership in the United States.
As soon as the cameras turn off and the curtain falls, these hypocritical movie stars drop their prop guns and pick up the Brady Campaign banner.
These members of the Hollyweird elite make a fortune using guns and glorifying violence on the silver screen and all that cash turns into rights-stifling donations to the anti-gun lobby. This fact should be enough to make every Second Amendment supporter question where their money is really going.
Fame can be a very powerful weapon and it may come as a shock to you that the following celebrities are completely against the Second Amendment, but it’s true…
Certainly, I haven’t used a gun anywhere other than on a movie set and I’d like to see if we could take them all away. It would be a beautiful thing.”
At the 2000 MTV Movie Awards, “Marky Mark” suggested that the “Best Villain” award be given to Charlton Heston:
“I believe Charlton Heston is America’s best villain because he loves guns so much. Maybe he should get the award for being president of the National Rifle Association.”
It’s true, Kevin Bacon has been in practically every movie ever made, but who knew that he also made regular appearances in the anti-gun camp? Kevin Bacon is on the NRA Institute for Legislative Action’s list of organizations and individuals who have contributed to anti-gun organizations.
Some may not be surprised, but the next one on our list has me kinda bummed.
It’s rather uncommon, and in this case rather unfortunate, to hear of a country music singer taking a stand for gun control.
Seriously, I have no problem with Shania Twain taking my breath away, but when it comes to my guns, that’s where I draw the line.
The Canadian born country star has been a loud and proud supporter of the Brady Campaign and yet, she didn’t have any qualms with hiring armed security guards for her 2011 wedding.
It’s just another story of double-standard hypocrisy.
Although he has no issues with wielding his Smith & Wesson Model 19 Snubnose on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, or in using a rifle disguised as an umbrella in Batman Returns, Danny Devito is yet another name on the NRA-ILA’s list of anti-gun contributors.
Up next, who would’ve guessed…
I actually hate guns. They freak me out,”
Damon’s irrational fear of guns comes as quite a surprise for someone who has handled such an enviable amount of them throughout his movie career.
What’s sad is when two-bit actors try to spread their own ignorant firearm-phobias in the form of gun control instead of just keeping their insecurities to themselves.
Many may have already know about the celebs we’ve already covered, but the next are a complete surprise…
I’m for gun control. I’m a peace-loving guy.”
Back in his prime, Arnold Schwarzenegger was recognized as the iconic Hollywood tough guy, due to his roles in movies like Predator and The Terminator.
Although he used to be a strong supporter of the Second Amendment, it comes as no surprise what politics will do to someone’s beliefs.
Schwarzenegger flip-flopped at the start of his 2003gubernatorial campaign, supporting the ban on “assault” weapons in the U.S., as well as supporting the Brady Bill.
Until America, door to door, takes every handgun, this is what you’re gonna have. It’s pathetic. It really is pathetic. It’s sad. We’re living in the Dark Ages over there.”
Although Stallone’s character Rambo has no problem firing a ridiculous amount of ammunition or engaging in a completely absurd amount of gun violence, the real-life Stallone is much different, (and much shorter).
Sorry ladies, our next anti-gun celebrity might take your breath away, but he really wants to take your guns too…
George Clooney mercilessly mocked Charlton Heston after Heston’s Alzheimer diagnosis.
When questioned about his insensitivity, Clooney replied: “I don’t care. Charlton Heston is the head of the National Rifle Association. He deserves whatever anyone says about him.”
Although many celebrities support gun control for whatever reason, this next asshat’s rationale is just plain stupid…
The Second Amendment comes from the right to protect themselves from slave revolts, and from uprisings by Native Americans. A revolt from people who were stolen from their land or revolt from people whose land was stolen from, that’s what the genesis of the Second Amendment is.”
You read that right. Danny Glover seems to think that the entire purpose of the Second Amendment was to enforce racism. What a jackass!
I’m not sure what planet Mr. Glover lives on, but maybe he could round up all his gun-grabbing friends, (and all those who claim everything they don’t like is “racist” too) and leave them there.
It is said that a total ban on handguns, including .22s, would take away innocent pleasure from thousands of people. Is that more or less pleasure than watching your child grow up?”
Sean Connery is no stranger to the anti-gun PSA’s of the United Kingdom, but we wish he’d leave his gun-grabbing dogma back in his own country, and leave ours to us.
It is completely hypocritical for actors to make millions of dollars from films featuring copious amounts of guns and violence, and then turn around and donate their money or voice to causes and programs which aim to strip Americans of their Constitutionally protected right to own a firearm!
